My wife and I are looking for other burner-type parents. We want to make some connections for babysitting both in SD and onsite at Burning Man and other festivals.

I know there are other parents out there like us who want to take their kids to these events but still want to have some serious mommy/daddy time. Maybe we can help each other out...

Divorce and Children

Hi...
In the midst of a separation that could likely lead to divorce and a bi-coastal life style (Boston/San Fran) for two children (6 and 9). I'm scared to death to go through with this as I am afraid of screwing up the kids.
Wife doesn't want to stay and I don't want to use courts to force her... but is staying together for the kids really for the best. I can fake it pretty good, but it doesn't sound like much of a life other than being a parent.
Anyone have an experience they'd like to share?

Austin Pagan Parent Alliance

Hi, I'm Jo and I am relocating permanently to Austin in a very few weeks. In my search for family-friendly pagan groups I found a lot of interest in starting such groups but nothing that seemed to be really family oriented. So I decided to start a tribe and see where it can go. If you are interested, please let me know. I thought this would be a great way to meet other pagan families and make new friends while contributing to our community. Feel free to spread the word and share any ideas you might have.
http://tribes.tribe.net/apfa
If there is enough interest on Tribe we can start a regular meetup on meetup.com

Thanks and Blessed Be!
Call for new photos!

Oh yes the "holidays" as people call them are here and I've begun to get so freakin sentimental it's not even funny!

Halloween got me started. There must have been between 350 to 400 children of all ages that came to the house that night. At times, I sat for what seemed like hours, with the door open because there were soooooo many kids coming. It made me think about the children, the families in general. What sorts of memories would they have when they look back, years later, at the photos that they took of their children that night.

So in the spirit of sharing memories, I'm asking you crazies to upload some new photos! IF you want, share a little story for us too!

Thanks :)

Burning Man Mom Needs Ideas!

Alright the story: last year a few days after burning man, my daughter had to go in for surgery. She blamed it on the burning man dust and said she never wants to go again unless we have an RV. So I didn't plan this year thinking maybe it is best we don't go. Well this is my yearly vacation and now my daughter (8) knows it is not the dust that hurt her, (at least we think) and we both want to go no matter what... this is last minute planning, got any ideas... how to get there, the extra money and how to get back home. Got ideas? I need em'. It will be our first year going alone!

The Drugging Of Our Children

OVERVIEW

Genre: Feature Documentary
Language: English
Country of Origin: USA
Running Time: 102 minutes

CAST & CREW

Director: Gary Null
Co-Directed by: Producer: Manette Loudon, David Chmura
Associate Producer & Legal Affairs: David Slater
Editor: David Chmura
Cinematographer: Derek Ramsey, David Chmura
Writer: Gary Null
Producer's Representative: Ostrow and Company

SYNOPSIS

How are large drug companies benefiting from the latest trend of selling powerful psychoactive drugs to America's children? Do these drugs really help our children cure symptoms of supposed mental illness, or do they tend to increase depression, violence, and suicide? Are we really treating the root causes of mental illness, or are we just eliminating annoying symptoms?

This feature-length documentary examines the alarming growth in the prescription of powerful psychotropic drugs for adolescents and children. Leading experts, as well as Neil Bush, Michael Moore and Gary Null, provide insightful commentary about the growing trend to pathologize the behavior of children, and then require them to take mind-altering pharmaceutical drugs as a "cure." The documentary recounts the national tragedy of Columbine and focuses on the largely unknown fact that teenage shooter Eric Harris was on the psychotropic drug Luvox at the time he and Dylan Klebold took the lives of 13 other students at their high school. Violence and aggression, precipitated by prescribed drug use, is also explored in an unprecedented discussion between Mark Taylor, the first shooting victim in the Columbine tragedy, and Cory Baadsgard, a teenager on Paxil and Effexor who, in another violent incident, took his teacher and 23 students hostage at gunpoint in his Washington high school. The film proceeds to show the dangerous links between psychotropic drugs like Paxil, Luvox, Effexor and Prozac – commonly prescribed to adolescents for anxiety, depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) - and the increased incidents of violence, suicide and psychotic behavior often observed in those children and adolescents who are taking the drugs. The film also provides compelling personal accounts, including a mother going to prison and losing her son to government authorities because she refused to give her son psychiatric drugs. Leading medical authorities and mental health professionals speak the unvarnished truth about current increased diagnoses of recently devised mental illnesses and the unprecedented prescription of a host of very powerful psychoactive drugs to "treat" them. Finally, this documentary explores safer, alternative methods for treating childhood mental illness.

http://tribes.tribe.net/kidsday

A while back Melissa & I made some half-assed attempts to get some meeting of the parents at some fun place for the kids to chum around, but we're all too f&^*^*&% busy, so I just converted "Tribe Heckler Tribe" to the closely related "Kid's Day - Night" tribe so maybe we'll start posting all the places that have kid's days or nights or specials for kids or reading times or musicians for kids or whatever - then we don't have to plan something but maybe will find a bunch of places that are fun for our kids (& us) and maybe even easy on the wallets - then you tell two friends, who tell two friends, and so on, and so on, and so on (was that a Breck commercial? is that stuff still on the market? if not, hope this works better than that).

For ease, I'm going to cut and paste this same thing on the other parent's tribes I'm on so if you already read it, then there's nothing new here...just being lazy (efficient?)

Do any of you have a daughter between 11 and 13 interested in having a pen-pal? My daughter is 12 and looking for a long distance friend...We live in Minneapolis, MN...I think she would click best with a girl raised by burners. We took her to the playa last week and she had an amazing time. We didn't really see anyone her age, and thought this might be a good place to find a connection for her. If you're interested please send me a private message and we'll trade info so they can start communicating.

The Dreaded ADD thread.....

Well, the kiddo is 7, shows every sign he's got ADD just like his mom and dad and well, he's going in to see the Dr. today for an evaluation and possible Rx. of some sort.

I've done all my research on medications, most are non-addictive, non amphetamine based that interest me and sound like they could seriously benefit the kiddo.

Now, I'd love to hear comments from parents who also might struggle with to medicate or not, if it's helped you, if you, yourself take any medication for such things like that.

Mom doesn't take anything for the AADD, Dad does. We're rather hesitant to put such a bright, yet frustrated, kid on anything that might dumb him down, we don't want that. He's a bright, happy kid who just struggles with making sense of school and homework and is full of anxiety for no reason over the homework. Well, all that an the attention span of a gnat!

Thanks~

New to my burner family

I am new to the burner scene, having just been introduced to it by my godmother, whom I now live with. I have just moved to florida, and am looking for other awsome down to earth people to chill with. I just did my first burn about a month ago! My family unit(now) is awsome, strange yes, but still awsome. My godmother and her boyfriend are living the true burner lifestyle and teaching me to do the same. I just attended my first regional burn - TRANSFORMUS 2006! And I have to say that It was a life changing experience for me. Never have I met such awsome, talented, accepting people as I have in this community. I have also been learning to play the african drums, and am about to start bellydancing classes!!! Yay! I am so excited to meet more people, who share my newfound passions!

We've set aside an area of about 1.5 acres that we've let get totally overgrown. Then I went in and made a crazy twisty path through it with the lawn tractor. Over time, I've added new paths for the purpose of getting closer to blackberry patches, and mowing down thorn bushes. It's at the point where visitors are calling it 'the maze'. We can let the kids go into the maze and they seek out blackberries and do whatever for hours on end. It's the only place where they don't fight and push each other, but rather work together to find blackberries and dewberries.

Hey Mommas, my little girl and I are leaving the oppressing depressing holds of the mid west for a couple of weeks to bake on the sunny shores of San Diego! While there I would love to attend some mommy and me yoga or any kid movement classes. And in general I am interested in any ideas you could throw my way! Are there any AP groups happening that we could attend? I am just giggly with excitement!
Please share any fun ideas you and yours are into.
My little one in a walking and almost talking one year old who love drawing, dancing and animals.

The DaVinci Method for ADD/ADHD

Are you a DaVinci personality type? (ADD/ADHD)

Learn more here:
http://people.tribe.net/vidourle/blog&topicId=52439ade-d919-4c55-94d7-0a669be671c4

You like thrill, excitement and risk
You are a highly creative problem solver
You are impulsive in nature
You are ambitious and industrious
You have tons of energy for things you are interested in
You love to be the hero in an emergency

In The DaVinci Method you will learn:

* How to set your mind free and discover your true calling.

* The Habits of Rebel Billionaires – Learn the habits the rebel billionaires use to make their DaVinci temperament work for them – not against them. (These habits are not well known because they don't work for average people – only those with the DaVinci temperament have the energetic capacity necessary for these habits to work.)

* Why the DaVinci temperament can make you afraid to succeed and how to eliminate that fear.

* The difference between your DaVinci type brainwave predisposition and other people's. Once you know how to use this information you'll be able to tap a level of genius very few people have access to.

* How substances affect your mind differently than other people. What foods and substances will help people with DaVinci type personalities and what foods and substances will stifle your brilliance. Hint: Stimulants like caffeine can make you ineffective – we'll tell you how and why.

* The 2 ways to handle your impulses – one way will make you crazy – the other way will make you brilliant.

* Why you procrastinate – how to understand it and how to make it work for you.

* From Repressed to Prolific Genius: How to release your DaVinci mind to think the way Leonardo Da Vinci's did – prolifically, without boundaries – in brilliance.

* Your unique DaVinci power of hyper-focus – a superhuman ability you were born with, how to harness this amazing strength to crush any challenge.

* Why the DaVinci temperament often leads to compulsive behavior & addiction – how to avoid this and how to heal it.

* The mysterious “sixth sense” that comes with the DaVinci temperament and how to tap into it.

I am looking for a place to have my daughters 1st Birthday Party in Portland OR. It's not really a big event but I want to invite 5 babies and 5 older kids along with parents and a few friends. My appartment is WAY to small and I can't afford to rent a space. Her birthday is Feb. 10th and it is to cold to have it at the park. Any idia's would really help. Thanx.

Well, my family has had it already.

First, the 7 year old, 103.4 and slept through most of it, missed a week of school and everything. Then Dad. Oh crap, no offense hunny-bunny, but you SUCK when you're sick! I don't know which one had it worse, my little guy or the big guy, but I do know one thing.........MOM here isn't going to get it, nooooo, not this year.

Hype or not, this could be the worst flu season ever if what the CDC says is true and from all the information I've been hearing. So what do you all think?

To flu-shot now or to not flu-shot??

Ooooh we are getting soooo excited for Halloween this year. The older the kiddo gets, the more fun it becomes!

The costume this year? A gorey zombie! Perfect! It's my idea of a good Halloween if it's scary and icky ;)

Then we get to celebrate Dias de los Muertos.
Anyone know of a good place to get some new sugar skulls and flags and things this year. Someplace specific?? So I don't have to trapse all over the Mission district randomly finding them? I don't have the molds to make my own, even though I have the recipe.

hello,
i just joined the other day and what a surprise to see my little Ruby's photo up as the main picture. By the way, that photo is unadulterated. There was a crystal hanging in the window and she had a knack for ending up in the right place at the right time because almost every day, she'd get showered with the rainbow when the sun came through. The hairdo was au natural as well, it just did that for a few weeks until her newborn hair finally fell out.

I have 2 kids. My son Sasha is 6 and Ruby is nearly 2 now. I am a single mom, not by choice, but things just happened that way. It's been hard adjusting because their father has done some extreme things against me and we have not been working together much at all. I hope that this will be all worked out soon, we have to go through the legal system because he chose to act out of fear rather than love. It is extremely difficult for me, as a way left-of-center type of person, to deal with attorneys and judges and the way time drags on in the court system. I hate having my life inspected by these people, and i hate having my parenting ability scrutinized and doubted. Maybe some of you out there are familiar with this struggle, or should i say challenge. Struggle makes it sound like i'm weakened by this. I know that it's making me stronger by forcing me to define who i am and what i want for my kids. I hope that as we come through this, my kids' father and i will once again be aligned in the best interest of our children.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello, and yeah...that's my kid!

Got Toys? :0)

Hey all! Recently I started working from home providing Discovery Toys to families so that I can continue staying home with my son (which is VERY important to me), hence the reason for this post.... :0) I think I finally found a way to stay home with my child and maintain my ethical boundaries while making money to support my family. How exciting is that! Given all of this, I thought that I would extend you all a offer to utilize my services. So here it goes.. :0)

Discovery Toys are wonderful in many ways.

1. They encourage positive interactions between parent and child.

2. Children learn as they play.

3. Discovery Toys is environmentally conscious! They use packing peanuts made out of corn starch which dissolves when wet and causes no harm to the environment.

4. Discovery Toys promote a healthy balance between mind, body and spirit.

5. What better way to do your Christmas shopping than from the comfort of your own home !?!

If you are at all interested in Discovery Toys, please visit my website at:

or you may contact me at:

DiscoveryToys@EcoIsp.Com

Play with your children..Its the best investment you'll ever make!!! I hope this post finds everyone and their family well!

Namaste

children's dentist

I need a recommendation for a good child dentist in the Bay Area. My son has some cavities on his baby teeth. I have been completely negligent about getting them fixed because he completely breaks down in a crying panic when I discuss going to the dentist. This weekend, however, he started complaining that his teeth hurt and I know I have to really deal with this problem head-on now.

I'm looking for a kind dentist with a good manner who maybe had videos kids can watch while s/he's doing the dental work. Anything to make the experience more pleasant.............

Suggestions?

next i would like to see if there is any interest in having a toy exchange for kids under 6. i figure, my kids get sick of thier toys or don't play with them as much, and yours probably do too. lets wash those old toys, stuffed animals, etc. and get them together with our children! let them choose what they like and call it even. if there is enough intrest, i'll find a place to host it.

hey all, just giving a shout out from sub-urban Richmond VA. it's nice to make your acquaintances, and really nice to know there are others striving to raise our children to be, well, better than usual. i have five little ducks, 13F, 8M, 6M, 3F, and 2F. the 6 and 8 yr old are homeschooled, preparing to be the next Kratts' Creatures hosts, spending most of their time at a creek near our house "rescuing" frogs, turtles, and minnows from an otherwise peaceful existence. they are all incredible people, and we try to keep them close on our journey through life. huzzah!

Summer Plans

So July 4th we usually spend out in the desert in Nevada. This year there will be no natural hotsprings and off-road adventure or extreme camping for us for a variety of reasons, money being one of them, but I still want to do some great camping, and not just in California.

My question for you all, if you will, is can you tell me your most secret and special place you like to go to for family adventure....that isn't Disneyland......if you follow ;)

I keep thinking Yosemite, Mt. Tamalpias, Palm Desert, but no specific place is coming to mind.

Any summer ideas anyone?

Do you guys sign your kids up for summer reading through your libraries? I sign Miranda up every year (tomorrow is the first day for sign-up).

We do the Bookbucks program where each reading goal we get stamped at the library buys a book for a child in a shelter, so much better than crappy plastic toys that she won't play with anyway. We always get the free t-shirt when we finish the program. She has several cool shirts from years past.

hey everyone,

the reason i ask is cause my daughter who is 15 this year is super smart, opinionated, creative, with somewhat dark witted humor, and a big heart....is bored to death lately with her social life!

i don't blame her. i raised her in an alternative way as i tried to keep one food on the ground. she's in the educational system where she's gonna stay for another few years and altho she has a lot of aquaintances and loves her friends - lot of times they don't understand her and fall short.

at this age in our society it's about me, me, me ,me and my drama...she is tired of that and wants to establish some freaky friendships outside of school that center around doing fun stuff - no dramas, materialistic pursuits or hanging with other grown ups!

she loves solving crime mysteries, baking amazing pies, designing futuristic clothing, dancing and being quite level headed.
she is a bit shy at first but that's because she's kinda fed up with most of the human race...as i try to desperately show her that there is an alternative.
unfortunately all our freaky teen friends are in other cities and countries.

ideas? anyone wanna collaborate on something here in van please contact me!

I just had to share.

Today when I picked up my son from school he was so ready to do his homework and so happy about all the progress he'd made in school that I decided to let him do something special before we got home to get the rest of his schoolwork finished. Go buy a new movie.

He's 7 and one of his friends gave him a gift certificate to a movie and video store. Turns out we had a credit at the store in addition to the certificate and we walked out after all the deals they had with a new playstation game and 3 new movies.......whoa, lucky boy!

So the deal was to do homework when we got home. He happily did and he got his spelling done too. So now we're sitting here with pillows to hide behind (just in case) watching Alien vs.Predator. He's seen it before and we're both cheering for the Predator!!!!!

Yay! Just thought I'd share a simple moment of my day with y'all :)

okay, I didn't see this coming...help!

my son goes to a residential school for low income kids...he's been there 4 years and is thriving...(fyi: http://www.mhs-pa.org) or he was...I've been involved with the school as much as I can, and I thought he was on track. Until today, when the middle school prinicipal called to tell me that he has been smoking weed, and a search of his room turned up some stash. He's thirteen!

I've had the open dialogue with about drugs and sex since he was young, I've talked about experimentation and consequences, choosing safe ways to rebel, and how actions today have future repurcussions. He's been doing really well in school and has had top merits in the school setting. He's a sweet kid, and well mannered...but clearly didn't think very hard about this decision. I thought I was doing everything the right way, and now, I feel like I just let him down, because it has to be something I didn't see...

I know I was a wild child, and although I eventually got my act together, that's not what I want for him. The school he is in will pay for his college education if he graduates with good grades. I want him to have this opportunity, but I am afraid that if I take the wrong actions now, I'll just make him act out in other ways.

I haven't talked to him yet, and I'll be seeing him tomorrow and at this point I'm not sure what kind of consequences I'm going to impose, but there will definitely be some...any suggestions, or comments or points of view would help...I'm just dumbfounded by this...I thought that being open and honest and trusting was supposed to keep this from happening...and I feel like I failed him.

why your family is 'different' than their friends families?

I was raised in a super traditional, 'normal' household and really have no desire to raise my little one in that kind of environment.

Do your children notice a difference and wonder about it?
If so, what do you tell them?

It appears that tonights music of choice was Ministry, Rob Zombie, Green Jelly (Jello? or what the heck ever it was........geez that was years ago!!!!!) and of course, not to be out done, he threw in a request for Slipknot!

Finally, a night like I'd like to spend it! Music, good food, family and great company!

I'm beaming ear to ear! So I uploaded a couple of photos of him in his beanie as he was dancing around the room to it all. Take no offense to the hand gestures, as he's 6 and doesn't exactly "get" what the overall meaning is ;)

Well, not entirely, but dammit if he won't hardly touch ANYTHING that I make for him or give him that is truly healthy that is "ready made" however, he eats so well when I make the food.

I don't know where I'm going with this, but he started it when he picked out vegan gummi bears in the store, then vegan this and vegan that.....and begged me for it, saying he loved it at a friends house, now he hates it.......grrrrrr.

I cook for a living.....doesn't mean I want to have to be a short order cook at home too, but jeez, how to untrain the McD and BK and all the garbage he see's if he watches t.v. is so hard.

Ok, that was my rant for the day. :) Have a great weekend. Feel free to input/feedback anything you like.

Actually, that happens every morning.
I wake up peering through my eyeballs wondering what in the hell have we gotten ourselves into and if I'll have everything prepared before our little critter arrives.

My sweetheart Cherry (expect to see her in here soon...) and I expect to get to hear the squeals and hiccups of our first child in mid July.
I'm constantly amazed at how her body has been changing and how quickly these nine months are passing. It's beautiful and I can't wait to see our little baby and dive into this new adventure.

Both Cherry and I had difficult childhoods and for many reasons don't feel comfortable with the thought of exposing our child to the company of our parents. We're part of a wonderful community though and are surrounded by absolutely beautiful people. Still I often struggle thinking of what's to come and know at some time we'll need to work with what's left in our relationships with our families and let our child have a chance to know them too.

I'm struck with the sense that I need to protect our little one from the utter bullshit that accompanies the company of my mother and stepfather. I'm in a state of knowing for double damn sure I'll never trust Cherry's stepfather around my daughter, and feel very cautious around thoughts of exposing her to other family members who never seemed to get it that it's a bad idea to physically threaten or assault children.

Still in light of that all, I fear I need to be really careful about the needs of our kid and make sure she gets to experience having family -- without coloring her experience with my memories of a painful childhood.
And I want to allow my family to share with us the thrills and rewards that are to come as our baby grows and we generate our own little pack, after all I somehow still feel they deserve to see what comes of our lives.

There's so much more, and at times the wonder and amazement and fear and doubt and humility of it all is just paralyzing.
I can see it coming and just acknowlege it all and let it be, then get back to the task at hand. I know that once our baby comes life's gonna take it's course and the needs of the little infant will be the rudder in the flurry and chaos that's bound to accompany our intro to parenting.
I just hope we find an elegant way to bring what's coming up in our nest to the rest of our family and avoid the hellish kind of crap we had to deal with when we were kids.
Movies and the Simpsons

Ok, I'm a little wild here, sure. We do wild stuff. But yesterday I was in the childrens section of the movie rental store and there among the disney titles and so forth sat the simpsons.

Now, I paused. No way in hell was my 6 year old going to watch the Simpson's on purpose because it's "only a cartoon mom".

Have I gotten too conservative?? Am I the only person who may seem wild and out going on the outside but has that inner-conservative lurking about???

I don't know. I just don't think it really is an entertaining example of what a little kid should see is all. We stuck with Spy Kids as our final choice, at least that one emphasizes family, teamwork and hard work with a little sci-fi fantasy fun thrown in for entertainment.

Am I wrong here?

What is an exteme family?

Frankly, I don't think we are that extreme. In fact, we do a lot of things that I think many folks would say are dared conservative.

We drive a mini van and an outback.

We live in a more "conservative" neighborhood.

We send our kids to public school. They are not really punk or anything, although my 10 year old says he wants to be goth when in middle school.

Hell, we even give our kids meds (ritalin) to overcome his ADHD. I know for many of you this seems conversative.

But, we are open to any and all ideas. Before puttng my son on ritalin we tried everything from cranalsacral (sp?) to diet to a million other flakey ideas. So, can we be "extreme" in spirit, even though on the outside we may seem not so extreme at all?

So, we're very much into wild camping adventures, to put it simply.

We're planning a trip to stay in the upper portion of the Grand Canyon. I've never spent much time climbing, hiking or camping in the park, as massive as it is it could take a lifetime to explore....but anyhow.......I'm looking to see if anyone here has spent much time there, or even been there at all???

Or.....

Are there other very wild places in the country that are pretty awe inspiring and neat to take the family to?

Thanks,
'Tash

Shipment to Iraq !!

Hey everyone!

Some of our community have been shipped of to to the evil bidding of our government. They include mechanics from DPW at Burning Man, some of the younger college-age artists who only had been signed up for the college tuition, never meaning to really go etc.

Well, they've sent me a note to ask for a few things. Namely stuffed animals and happy trinkets to give to the children they come across every day. One, my friend Aaron, being a father and long time friend, has made this request in an honest and caring manner. They've also asked for something else, letters of hope, drawings the kids have made, photos of "home" etc as well as some warm flannel underwear and socks etc.

I've been assembling all sorts of things at home already and now have DHL/Danzas ready to help us ship by matching our costs by 50% and then there is an employee discount on top of it. I expect to ship by the end of November, very begnining of December.

I ask for no money at all, just if you are able to support our guys and girls over there and give something to the children who didn't ask to be in this mess. Anything at all would be appreciated.

I can be contacted through tribe for more information, and pass this along if you know someone else who you might know can participate.

I certainly look at this as a way to "clean house" of all those toys that never get touched and my 6 year old has filled a box already, lol.

Thanks everyone!

This year we are opening Naughty Santa's up to extreme families and hip families and freaky familys and punk and burner and hippie families.ALL.

We are hoping to mark the holiday celebrations with a free absinthe toast sponsored by Absinthia.
We feel this a bohemian way to bring together families in a large artistic venue. Sharing a ritual from the beginning of last century to unite us in a bohemian bond. One that is disticntly not burner/hippie/punk.
But nods towards the pioneers of modern radical self expression.

Anyone accompanied by children gets in free. We will ask for a donation.

Naughty Santa's believes, now more than ever before, we can prove to ourselves that there are a lot of us and that we wont be taking too much shit.
Dont mess with our children, mr george bush.
Cheers.

Miranda and I were walking to daycare today and there were some really good puddles, so we were stomping our way down the street, getting muddy and soaked around the pantcuffs. These two women power-walked by us and one of them remarked rather snottily, "What do you think you're teaching her by letting her do THAT?"

I just smiled and said, "To enjoy life." She looked vaguely disgusted, but her friend replied, "Makes sense to me."

It was kinda funny.

Oh dang! That was a great weekend. An impromptu dash up to Tahoe to help out some family with a broken water heater and we hit the nicest snow conditions in November! A new storm came in, dumped a whole bunch of heavenly fluff and we had a blast!

The kiddo and I took out the new snowboards for their first good run of the year and we fell TONS! OMG, we laughed so hard, we cried so hard, we were covered in powder from head to toe and in places you shouldn't have snow, but we had a great time coming down the mountain.

My son is totally unphased, he's ready to be up there again, and I'm feeling like, well, like a truck hit me! Everything in my shoulders and neck are killing me from all the hilarious crashes, lol, but Ian and all his kidness, isn't sore anywhere.......! Lucky kid!

What sorts of things did you all do?
